Peanut butter buttercream frosting
Light and fluffy. The only kind of peanut butter I buy is Adams, the kind that’s just peanuts and salt. But for this, I didn’t want the oil to separate out, so I used Skippy.
Go here for regular buttercream frosting.
Put the butter and peanut butter in the mixer bowl.
Cream together.
Add the powdered sugar and mix together.
Add the vanilla and cream and mix together.
Mix on high for about 3 minutes, until light and fluffy.

Peanut Butter Buttercream Frosting
Light, fluffy frosting that's not too peanut-y. Good for filling between cake layers when you want just a peanut butter accent.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 cup peanut butter Natural (the kind you have to stir to homogenize, knowing that you will be getting peanut oil all over you and the outside of the jar); not sweetened, peanut-flavored shortening like the two most popular brands.
- 1 cup butter room temperature
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 tablespoons heavy cream whipping cream, straight out of the carton (not whipped)
Instructions
-
Cream peanut butter and butter together.
-
Add powdered sugar and mix together.
-
Add vanilla and cream.
-
Mix together until blended. If it's too dry, add more cream a little at a time. If it's too runny, add more powder sugar.
-
Mix on higher speed for about 3 minutes, until it's light and fluffy.
